CORNER OF DEPRESSION - THE SCOOTERZ CD REVIEW

From the cover song 'Just Like Heaven' found on the CD comp STRANGE AS ANGELS: A TRIBUTE TO THE CURE, you know THE SCOOTERZ can do some CURE. The question is, is that all? True THE CURE have a nice sound and several songs on the full length CD do them proud but... Well, George and Misty Hosni aka THE SCOOTERZ do have more to offer. In songs written about the not-so-fun things of Life, 'High School Reject' and 'I Hate My Job', there are songs of redemptive answers like 'Beer City' mixed in. However for those who are lucky, stoned, or perceptive, there is a little treat at the 7:09 mark on track 14 called 'Veggie Tales' which shows that THE SCOOTERZ aren't at all too DEPRESSED at the CORNER. Overall. the lyrics are well written in ballad style and the sound is pedestrian. - PT ROTHSCHILD
