Paycheck – w/ Ben Affleck & Uma Thurman

A john Woo film with his stylized freeze frame action climaxes, but this time they are not as over done as in MI2. Ben is ‘wooden’ at all the right times and each explanatory scene is followed by an explosive action sequence. Uma is the romantic interest based mostly on her intelligence and attitude, rather than any beauty, and that is a welcome twist. Still the bride comes out just when Ben is ‘up to his ass in alligators’ once or twice.
